Ten Hands High may be based in London but they want us to know they were made in Leeds. Wherever they’re from they make great music and the new single release ‘Sweet’ is a great example of that.
This is the first song and title track of our upcoming debut EP which is due to be released in May. The song comes from a great place and mixes in a few different genres to form what is the bands new sound. The band tell us,
“This song and EP mark a step into a new genre for us, combining our indie-rock roots with elements of alt-pop/rnb.”
Ten Hands High
New beginnings are a theme that runs right through this song. It’s a song about finally getting over someone you’ve been in love with (or at least thought you were in love with) for years. The song starts as it means to carry on “I’ve forgotten what tears taste like, I’ve been sweet for a while,” the voice tells us over funky swagger.
Ten Hands High’s describe themselves as having a sound that is an eclectic mix of the alternative scene, spanning genres to encompass the best of indie rock, anthemic pop and uni nostalgia. In reality, it’s hard to pin their sound down, they’re one of those bands that jump straight out of the box!
It is a case of straight out of the box and into your head because once you hear this song you’ll be singing or humming it for days. Go stream it and see what I mean.
This song can be found on Amplified Magazine’s March 2021 New Music Playlist.
There are lots of other great songs on there too so why not give it a listen and a like. The more popular our playlists become, the more great artists will want to feature on them and we will be able to bring you even more awesome music.
